As an attorney, Ms. Viera conducts investigations of harassment, discrimination and other employment claims. She began her legal career as a neutral fact-finder and developed special expertise as an attorney at Littler Mendelson where she taught Human Resource Managers to conduct lawful investigations. She has trained thousands of managers and employees nationwide on this and other employment law topics. Her Spanish language skills and experience abroad make her especially useful in investigations of a cross-cultural nature.
Ms. Viera previously practiced employment law at Littler Mendelson, where she dealt with a variety of labor and employment issues, including disputes arising under Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disability Act, wage and hour laws, employment contracts and a variety of California state statutes. Ms. Viera worked with Fortune 500 companies in both state and federal court.

As an attorney-trainer, Ms. Viera develops and teaches dynamic employment law training programs for organizations on topics such as harassment prevention, EEO compliance, and communication skills programs. Since 2000, she has taught thousands of supervisors and employees nationwide on conflict resolution and employment law compliance. She has developed special expertise in harassment prevention, one-on-one sensitivity training of alleged harassers, conducting lawful investigation programs utilizing live actors or video, mediation skills and diversity awareness programs. Ms. Viera also teaches harassment prevention programs in Spanish. She works diligently to create and customize interactive programs for her training clients, who range from Fortune 500 companies to universities to local non-profit organizations.
Ms. Viera teaches Conflict Resolution for Human Resource Managers at San Francisco State University and regularly guest lectures for mediation training programs at U.C. Berkeley. She assists with legal mediation and negotiation training courses at Boalt Hall and Hastings Law Schools. She has taught conflict resolution skills to youth and has appeared in a variety of training videos.
